Two Angry Moms!

If you’re not happy with your school district’s lunch program, then you’re an angry mom and this DVD is for you!

I bought this while I was in the check out isle at Whole Foods. I had no idea what to expect and my hopes were not too high. I’ve seen a lot of documentaries lately that left a lot to be desired. This one however was a real treat!

A lot of documentaries complain about what’s wrong with our food, our environment, our ‘you name it’, but they don’t offer practical solutions. This one does!

It profiles school districts around the country who are making changes to their lunch programs. Some are growing their own gardens, teaching the kids to cook, allowing the kids to design their own lunch program and help cook it.

Two Angry Moms follows some of Alice Waters’ recent miracle work, including an overhaul to a Berkely California district and Yale University (where her daughter attends).

Ms. Waters took one of the cafeterias at Yale under her wing, and as a result college students are actually faking their school IDs to get into that cafeteria. Why? Because it only offers local, organic food (s0me grown by their own garden) and the students realize that not only is it healthier for them, but it tastes better.
