Sulfate-Free Shampoos

Another question I get asked a lot is what kind of shampoo I use. Most people are now aware of the dangers of sulfates in shampoos, but it’s difficult to find non-toxic shampoos that still work well. Many leave your hair looking and feeling to dry, or too weighed down.

I have been using John Masters for a long time now, and his products are great. They are sulfate-free, and vegan, which is tough to find.

However, I think it’s good to mix it up from time to time, and this is what I’ve been using lately, and I love it.

Acure Organics are free from animal testing, parabens, sulfates, phthalates, synthetic fragrances, harmful preservatives and artificial colors.

I’ve tried at least 20 differnt companies before finding this one, so I’m happy to share that this line is really great.

Acure also has skin and body products and with each facial care product provides a donation to help fight breast cancer.

“Each day, women are bombarded by harmful chemicals in cosmetic products. Some of these, such as parabens (one of the most widely used preservatives in conventional personal care products), have been directly linked to breast cancer. Acure Organics wants to help eliminate people’s exposure to toxic chemicals in cosmetics and help educate them on the benefits of food-grade, organic ingredients.”

Being organic doesn’t mean low-tech. Check out this video explaning the technology behind some of their amazing ingredients.
