These brownies are fabulous, and go quite nicely with a little scoop of ice cream!

This recipe originated from The Vegan Scoop with a few changes.

The walnuts are optional, but the recipe is much better with them!


2 cups white whole wheat flour

2 cups sugar

A little less than 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup water

1/2 cup coconut milk

1/4 cup vegetable oil

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup chopped walnuts (great for omegas!)


Preheat oven to 350.

In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa, backing powder and salt (use a sifter). Stir.

Add water, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract, and mix until blended. Mix in nuts.

Evenly spread into greased pan, sprinkle with nuts, and bake for 30-40 minutes.
