It’s only been a few days since New Years, so I’m assuming your resolution to have a healthy 2012 is still going strong.
Snacks are an easy trap to ruin an otherwise healthy diet. Little bites of garbage food here and there add up fast.
I started adding Goji Berries to my trail mix, and smoothies a few months ago and I’m not planning on giving them up anytime soon.
They are full of antioxidants that help prevent cancer, and heart disease, but they also help your appearance as you age.
They are a huge help in fighting cellulite, and they help make your skin look great.
Goji Berries are a major boost to your immune system, and are loaded with vitamin A to help eye sight as well.
1 oz. has 10% of the recommended iron for the day which is good news for us veggies.
I don’t know how much I eat a day, but I always have a bowl on the counter with mixed raw nuts so a healthy snack is always easy, and accessible.
My kids grab them throughout the day as well, and I always have a bowl on the table when we eat oatmeal so they can throw them in.
There are supplements, but I try to choose raw foods over vitamins whenever possible. Goji Berries can be found at Whole Foods and on Amazon if you don’t live near a Whole Foods.
One caveat – they are considered a night shade so if you’re avoiding nightshades these would not be a good option for you.
